I took more pictures this year than last, but most of the "adults" pulled faces and I didn't think they would appreciate my putting their facial contortions on the internet for all to see. :) We all had a blast though, and that includes all the little cousins. They were so cute playing the piano together and "building" their construction paper turkeys! But mostly they ran around making a huge amount of noise.
That's my sister in the picture with me. What a beauty she is! It took me awhile to be "okay" with being jealous over my younger sister. Sigh...
No pictures of the food but be assured, we had plenty! Oh my goodness! I wish I had some right now! Beet salad, heavenly sweet potatoes, corn swimming in butter, ham, turkey, deviled eggs, and a black olive for each fingertip! There was more, like brussel sprouts with bacon...not popular among everyone but I don't think you can go wrong with anything simmered in bacon grease. Then there was the mashed potatoes with gravy. Not just any gravy, but gravy with thick noodles swimming in it. Gravy! I love gravy! Of course we had pie as well. Pumpkin, apple, and berry crumb! The pumpkin was especially wonderful....I think I need to go cook something.
Of course the food is always great, but we all know what Thanksgiving is for. Being grateful, silly! And I am grateful. For my family - my parents, my brothers and sisters, my husband, my own little babies. For everyday blessings sent to me from a loving Heavenly Father. Happiness!
