Before I can Sleep -

I just watched "The Holiday" with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, and Jack Black. It's a "chick flick" I snuck in on our Netflix list, so I waited until 'the boys' were in bed. Of course I loved it...and I couldn't wait until the morning to share that thought with someone. I feel somewhat altered by watching it. Maybe that's too strong of a statment, but it has definitely got me thinking! Like, I want to go to London someday! There must be a ton of great classic movies that I will never have time to watch! I want to meet someone new! I want to tell my husband that I love him! I am his "leading lady" and he is my "tall, dark, and handsome" in our own kind of love story. Life is good!

My Indulgence

The "Twilight" DVD was released on the 21st of this month and like an obsessed fan went out to get it as soon as I could. John was wonderfully supportive about it all, making the whole experience a family affair. I have been somewhat enthraled by the book series, and now the movie, I'm sure my husband has been curious to see what all the hub-bub is about.

So we brought it home, watched it, and then watched it again the next day! I was so happy that John liked it! To be honest I have been quick to point out what I think is wrong with it, but I can't stay away! And so now it grows on me even more. To be sure, the book is better, but the movie/actors really do a good job of making it an understandable story within a reasonable amount of time.

I don't know why I'm so drawn in to this! Maybe I will figure it out as I watch it again tonight. :)

Movie Madness

For the past week or so I have put in quite a few movie hours. Mostly chick flicks of course. It's refreshing to watch other love stories develop and to identify with the characters.

Here's my most recent view:

I certainly love this movie! And have just discovered that it was first a book. I will be checking that out soon! It is so wonderful to see the absolute true love between these ordinary people (Holly and Gerry of course)! Here's a scene I think is hilarious. Holly and Daniel are kind of meeting for the first time:

Holly Kennedy
: What do you think?
Daniel Connelly: I think you're hot!
Holly Kennedy: [gasps]
Daniel Connelly: Sorry, I have a syndrome.

Right now my favorite movie is "Return To Me"

The whole thing is beautiful! Starting out with such anguish for one, joy for the other, and they just are not complete until they are together! Every time I hear him say that he "aches" for Gracie I can't help but sigh from the perfectness of it all!
And those four old guys! Wally, Emmett, Angelo, and Marti! I love them! They crack me up, and renew my appreciation for the classic singers.
One of my favorite quotes is:

"Hairy legs are your only link to reality."

The rest of my movie list includes (in no certain order):

My Best Friends Wedding (good soundtrack)
The Family Stone (I laughed, I cried, I loved it!)
Made of Honor (wonderfully predictable)
Two Weeks Notice (pretty darn funny)
Notting Hill (yes, I like Hugh Grant)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (ahh, the wonders of Windex!)

I know, I've been busy! It's been fun though. Movies like these help me keep up my femininity. My two boys just don't understand sometimes!
