Tis the Season...

Tis the season for sparkling lights, star topped trees in houses, and magical stories of giving and getting. Tis the season for anxiety of what to buy, how to buy it, and who to buy it for. Tis the season of crowded streets and crowded stores, all experienced with a certain goodwill toward men. Tis the season to keep friends close and family closer. Tis the season of Christmas cheer, singing songs of joy and peace.
"Tis the season" brings a flood of images to mind. Most are bordered by the familiarly festive red and green, and what "Christmas" has evolved to. Sometimes I feel that the most important "tis the season..." has become the background of this modern collage.
Tis the season of Christ.

Yes, we have all heard this, we know this, we see it posted on several church billboards as we drive past. But lets take some time to THINK about it! Ponder on why He had to come to earth as a sweet baby so He could give us the greatest gift of all. Maybe you have already done this. I'm talking mostly to myself really. Pep-talks keep me focused. :)

Reflection, service, love, action, peace, my Saviour. These are some of my "tis the seasons" that I hope to experience and improve upon.
