Finally! A smile caught on camera! I tried and tried but he is such a curious kid that he just stared at the camera very intensely. So dad got in on the action and began to whistle the Indiana Jones theme song (little Johns' new favorite), works every time!
So we went to church today (as we do every Sunday). Thankfully we live in a ward with tons of babies! (No joke! The mothers' lounge is a high traffic area these days). Anyway, little John wasn't the only one to let out the occasional noises that a baby tends to make, less stress for me! John (the dad) spent the 2 hours after sacrament meeting in Nursery, I spent it in the earlier mentioned mothers' lounge and then pacing at the back of the combined Priesthood/R.S. lesson, trying to get the little guy to sleep. Eventually he did, just before the closing prayer! I really need to get some FLAT church shoes!
Anyway, life is good! (I may not have said that yesterday, but we all have our moments :)
John continues to look for a job, mostly filling out applications on-line and sending out his resume. We're hoping to be in the Toledo, OH area. Crossing our fingers and sending up allot of prayers!
Other than taking care of our sweet little angel baby I have also been working on my jean rug project that I started 3 or 4 years ago (no, it's not huge, I just happen to be a 'project procrastinator'). I don't get much done at any one time but I can see the progress and it's pretty exciting. I've also been reading here and there. I'm in the middle of a book that is a compilation of talks by Pres. Monson. It has been uplifting but I think the best part about it is I feel like I'm getting to know him better.
Well, little John is crying, he does that. Lately he is only consoled if we are standing and walking with him, laying him down with the pacifier (that might come back to bite us), or making ridiculous faces and shaking very loud toys. My facial muscles hurt just thinking about it! Don't worry, I'm not letting him cry as a write this, his dad had him and then I got him to sleep after some heavy coaxing. We know he's tired, it just takes awhile for him to get the message. :)
So tomorrow starts a new week, and then we are in a new month. I love it! It gives me the courage and enthusiasm to be a little better, try a little harder. I think of it as my 'New Day Resolution', sometimes 'New Hour Resolution'! Every minute is fresh, we may as well be fresh with them!
