Lock and Load!

The baby has dropped! We believe it occurred yesterday. My belly sits ever so slightly lower than before, my heartburn isn't as frequent, and when I walk I definitely feel a grapefruit size presence taking over my bladder space (as if it wasn't crowded before! :). They say if it's your first baby he will drop and stay locked in this position for a week or two before popping out, we're getting close!
Yes, life is a little more uncomfortable in these "last days". Loose, achy hips and knees, inability to get off the couch without assistance, and I am amazed at how wide my stance is! The "waddle" is another one of natures' beautiful ways of helping me cope with this off-kilter weight gain. It won't be long before I trade these all in for a new set of complaints, along with a bundle of joy that will outweigh all physical and mental stress and strain!
We are so excited to see the little guy, (of course!) and sometimes even impatient. Especially John, he wants this baby out! I admit that part of my excitement is for seeing John hold his little baby and how being a father will affect him. He's already such a great daddy! Here's hoping my mommy skills will be just as great!
