Happy Birthday to Me!
The actual day was Sunday but I have had some birthday fun over the past three days.
Saturday:
What a day it was! We started early so my sister-in-law and I could be at the starting line of a 5K run in Toledo by 8:30 a.m. There we are! Pumped and ready!
Of course was brought our little buddies to cheer us on. :)
It was amazing and I am so glad I did it! To be out there with so many other people was a great feeling, and being there with my SIL was a blast! She really made it fun, shouting cheers for us and other people, and keeping me going when I thought I was going to die at the end!
We jogged almost the whole way and more than once I thought "I can't believe I'm doing this!" The body is an amazing thing, especially with a "can-do" attitude. By the end of it we may not have been quite as "pumped" but we were still smiling!
Kind of...
The rest of the day was spent with my family, taking the kids to a model train exhibit, seeing my mothers wonderful garden, eating dinner and topping off with yummy cheesecake!
We came home very tired, but happy.
I should have gone right to bed, BUT...
I dyed my hair instead!
It's on the red/brown side now, I like it. :)
Then I painted my nails!
I have discovered that quick dry polish is soooo much better than the cheapo brands I used to get! Certainly a necessity of motherhood! Another little something is that I finally experienced the wonders of waterproof/smudge proof mascara! I don't know why I never tried it before - no more dark smudges under these eyes!
Sunday:
My main goal was to look extra cute. I think I did pretty good. :) At least my husband told me so and that's good enough for me! Sorry, no photo! It was a nice relaxing day, ending with a yummy cake that my sweet mother-in-law made for me.
Monday:
Ahhh. Today I lived in anticipation of our family outing. We went out for dinner, to a SIT DOWN restaraunt! This doesn't happen very often so I was perhaps a little trigger happy with the camera, wanting to document every happy moment!

A little play-time. :)
And of course, dessert!! It was delicious!
What a lucky girl I am! To be blessed with such wonderful family, friends, and experiences!
I look forward to another year of learning and fun...and 5Ks!!

5K, you are the woman! Truly! :)
Great post babe ;) But one thing is a little disturbing. "I look forward to another year of learning and fun...and 5Ks!!" Your going to do more and 5Ks?!?! Nooooo... My wife is going to be able to out run me :/
