Bugged

I started early this morning on my "learn something new every day" quota. Just waking up and opening my bedroom door there was a very fast shadow racing across my path. Ooo-wee scary! Thankfully it stopped when I turned the light on and there was a sturdy shoe nearby. I had never seen anything like it! A mix of a cockroach, a centipede and a Tennessee 'hopper bug'? It wasn't long before I made my way to Google so I could calm my imagination down. (was it poisonous? did it crawl in our sheets at night? does it lay huge nests in our couch?!!).

Turns out that I squished a "house centipede". It is an insectivore, eating other insects and spiders. Good news right?! I'm not sorry about killing it, but I am willing to accept it's existence...as long as I can't see it. They are scary little creatures! But so are spiders - this is giving me a complex!
