Life as we know it

Well, for the past week or so we have been sick. Thankfully John didn't get it too bad, it's always nice to have at least one person in the family who can function normally. Little John and I were not so lucky. Coughing, sneezing, runny noses, stuffy heads, and generally grumpy.
John and I agreed that it is awful when our little boy gets sick. My stress levels shot up with his every cough or cry, as I wished I could do something more than just hold him and wait for it to pass.

But now we are doing better! We still have some residual symptoms but nothing in comparison. Little John is happy again! And that is a beautiful thing.

He really is a wonderful boy. A curious, determined, and smart little boy. He wants to "explore" and do things on his own more, but he doesn't crawl yet. He gets so frustrated when we put him down for 'practice', but I suppose that's how it has to be. He's quite good at pushing himself backwards...but then he's farther from what he was aiming for in the first place! What he really loves to do now is stand up against the couch or something low and play while standing. Of course his balance isn't the greatest so he needs a little help in staying upright. He is also quite a bookworm. He has his favorite story books, but he thinks it's so much better to get a hold of my books and flip back and forth through the pages. A good sign I think. :)

John is still working at Target and doing well there. They try to give him as many hours as they can and we appreciate that. Especially since we've had a little car trouble again. It's a frustrating time for everyone these days, but what a great opportunity to really turn to the Lord! No one can save us like He has or love us like He does! We can trust Him, and so we should!

That's about it I guess. Nothing fantastic I'm afraid, but good enough for me!
