Working the night shift at Target seems to be getting easier for John, and all of us really. My biggest worry has been if little John wakes big John up after he gets in bed after 4 or 5 a.m.! Tonight though I have decided to let little John "cry it out". I realize this may take a few days (hopefully not more!), and will be heartbreaking for me (won't he be scared?!), but I need to just suck it up and stick to this. It will be better for us all. Maybe I'll gain a little more sanity with a good nights sleep...
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving! It is so much fun to get together with family and eat! Also, I think my daily thankful thoughts have helped me more fully appreciate this season... and life. Watching the news can bring a feeling of panic and foreboding for the present and future, but concentrating on the good things and good actions that surround us helps allot.

With that being said, today I am grateful for broccoli!
It has always been one of my favorite veggies. :) I still smile and think of "little trees" when I see it. I love how it smells as it cooks and that it has two different tastes as you move from the leafy tops to the crunchy stalks. And it was one of my horses'-Billy's- favorite treats. He just loved to tear off one end while I held the other, and the big broccoli stalk chunks would squeak on his teeth as chewed. By the end of it his saliva would be all frothy and green...ahhh, good times.
