Isn't it beautiful! I didn't know there were such things as "Fairytale Pumpkins" until yesterday. My mom and big little brother came up to take me to lunch and hang out. It was a wonderful surprise and felt so good to be with them. Anyway, we did some grocery shopping and while mom was picking out meat I looked up and there they were. The most beautiful pumpkins I had ever seen! And with such a fitting name! I felt like if I could somehow squeeze my life into one of them all my happy endings would come true. Ahhhh....perfect!
Okay, maybe that's a little silly, but this time of year always gets me excited (if not a little loopy). The cool yet sun-shiny weather, the sweet smell of leaves changing color, the slight shift in the worlds countenance toward good will and cheer, and of course the pumpkins. One day I will have a pumpkin patch (she says as she pictures Scarlet O'Hara standing in a field with a fist full of dirt).
Anyway, my favorite quote from yesterday is from my mom at lunch. She had eaten just the inside of her burger very quickly so she could hold little John while I ate. I didn't know that she had really finished so when I was done I offered to hold him so she could. She was quick to say "It's just buns and onion." Sometimes I think that really describes life, "just buns and onions"! I loved it!
So the big news this week is that I started working for my brother Lory. He and my cousin have a business of websites dedicated to selling certain products. It's an up and coming project. I get the fancy title of "Content Analyst" (loving it!) and basically write info on the products for the general public. So far I have learned about stem-cells. Actually I learned about them a long time ago, but it was nice to have a little refresher course. It felt good to remember things I had learned in Anatomy and Physiology. My favorite subject! Anyway, it's nice that I can do this from home for a couple hours a day or so.
To end on the cutest note ever, little John is SO ready to start eating "real" food! Every time we eat or drink he reaches out and then gets mad if we don't put the cup or spoon up to his lips for his turn! He's had a few sips of water (whatever wasn't spilling out on his front), and I admit that we let him try some vanilla ice cream. After tasting it he didn't want to share it!

It was funny seeing little John want more ice cream and seeing his little hand reaching out for it. :P
I love when the baby gets to be that age. I have 4 and my youngest is 7 months and he is getting there and he wants everything we have when we are eating. How many do you have?
I love finding other LDS moms.

hello! :-D i just hopped over to your blog from a link on Home Living Blog (she directed us here to look at your pumpkin). I've only read this post so far, but you sound so friendly!
How old is your little one?? My Jack is 5 months old and we just introduced him to veggie baby food this week. He also took a sippy cup for the 1st time today. :) We let him sit with us everytime we eat and he's always trying to grab our stuff! this is my 1st baby, so the whole experience is very enchanting... :-D
Wow! Well, little John is my first baby and will be 6 months old this Wednesday. I love being his mom! We just started him on some baby cereal and he loves it! I am really excited for him to be eating "real" food. :)
