Still Here

We're in the last days of July! Time flies when you're having fun,...or something like that. Well, last Saturday we drove down to Columbus to visit with James and Stephanie. We had a blast hanging out with them and enjoying their comfy home. Thanks James and Steph!!
The whole trip was full of first experiences for little John. His first outing to a restaurant, his first visit to a zoo, his first visit to the Ohio State University campus. He slept or cried through most of it! :) As his mother I had fun recognizing these little moments, and then regretting that I had left our camera at my parents house the weekend before! So no pictures, no freeze frame shots of us with family, or holding little John in front of the fish aquarium that he loved, or of us standing in front of the sting rays that kept rubbing their faces on the glass, or of the ducks that came right up to us as we sat down for lunch (we named them Mac and Vinny). I had allot of fleeting regretful moments, wishing for the camera. Funny thing is that if we had it we probably wouldn't have taken many pictures anyway! Oh well! We were there, it was real, life goes on.
Little John is 3 months old now. It seems like we've had him in our life forever. What did we do without him?! His little legs and arms are getting pleasantly chunky, and he holds his head up like a pro when held in a sitting position or laying on his tummy. There's no denying his cuteness!
Other than our little trip we haven't done much. Well, at least not much that others would care about. I got the place vacuumed and cleaned up yesterday, it made me pretty darn happy. :) I've been reading Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope". I'm not impressed with it, he just seems to use so many words before getting to his point. I've skimmed through allot of it and continue reading it so I can say I finished something lately!
Anyway, I'm so glad tomorrow is Sunday! I think I'll paint my nails for the occasion! :)
