Expectations?

"Just pick me up mom!" Little John says that allot...one way or another! I know, it's been awhile, but we're still here! We stay busy, doing some very repetitive things (you can imagine). We are getting pretty good at nursing, which has helped lower my stress levels considerably.
It really is something, getting used to this new little person and having our whole world wrap around him. I have learned that starting a day with any expectations is NOT the way to go! Sometimes it is just not realistic to get laundry folded in one day, or to take a shower before 3 p.m.! If I get a shower at all I feel victorious! I have found it a little hard to realize that all I have to do for a successful day is to feed, change, play with, and just keep this baby happy! So demanding! And oh so cute! I love every minute with him! He is such a good baby!
He's a little mama's boy already! He tolerates dad for awhile, but it's not long before he starts crying. Big John has been spending more time with him the past couple of days so things have gotten better (gives mom a break!). They play together so well! CUTE!!
He continues to grow and amaze us. He holds his head up so well and loves to look around and see new things. He even talks to us with his little "aah" sounds and will sometimes give us smiles and the cutest "surprise!" face (raised eyebrows and wide open mouth!). Such a blessing to have him in our lives! We love being his parents!
He is a month old tomorrow, wow. With the time that has passed we have made many adjustments and learned many things about ourselves, what we are capable of and what our limitations are. I'm sure we will have many, many, more such lessons in the days ahead. For now I feel we are settling into our new "normal" pretty well. We sleep when we can and plan our days around feedings. What more can we expect?! :) Ha ha!!
